Our standard

We design, build and test OfferReady AI against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA — the technical standard used by the ADA Title II rule for public colleges and universities and by Section 508.

Conformance status

OfferReady AI is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA: most of the product meets the standard, and the known exceptions are listed below with the alternative we offer for each. We are working toward full conformance.

How we test

  • Automated WCAG 2.1 A/AA checks (axe-core) on our public pages, plus a code review of the signed-in student pages for form labels and colour contrast. Our most recent audit was on September 21, 2026; the issues it found — colour contrast on light surfaces when a device is in dark mode, and form fields without programmatic labels — were fixed the same day.
  • Keyboard-only walkthroughs of the main student flow — sign in, upload, match analysis, résumé editor, downloads, cover letter and mock interview — and screen-reader testing with NVDA and VoiceOver. This manual testing is under way and its results will be published in our Accessibility Conformance Report.
  • New features are checked against WCAG 2.1 AA before release.

What's built in

  • Keyboard access: menus, dialogs, selects and tabs are built on accessible component primitives that support Tab, Enter, Space, Escape and arrow keys, and a skip link jumps past navigation.
  • Labels and names: form fields have programmatic labels, and icon-only buttons have text names.
  • Visible focus: focused controls show a clear outline.
  • Contrast: text on light surfaces is held to at least 4.5:1, including when your device is in dark mode.
  • Text alternatives to voice: mock-interview questions are always shown as text as well as spoken, and every answer can be typed instead of recorded.
  • Zoom and motion: responsive layouts designed to reflow at 200% zoom and on small screens, and animations that respect the "reduce motion" setting.
  • Touch targets: controls on mobile are at least 44 × 44 pixels.

Known limitations and alternatives

  • Downloaded PDFs are formatted for employers' applicant-tracking systems and are not yet tagged for screen readers. Use the DOCX or plain-text download, which carry the same content and work with assistive technology.
  • The visual résumé editor is a rich-text editing surface; screen-reader announcements of formatting changes are still being refined. You can also edit the DOCX download, or paste and edit plain text.
  • Payment pages for individual plans are provided by Square, and their accessibility is Square's responsibility. Students with campus access never see a payment page.

Feedback and accommodation requests

If something doesn't work for you, tell us — we aim to respond within two business days. If you need an accommodation, such as a document in another format or help with a specific feature, we provide it at no charge.
